Professional and Industry Experience (over 17 years of experience):

Sonia started her professional experience as a Manager in A. F. Ferguson & Co. for three years dealing with reputable Companies in the Fuel and Energy sector as well as renowned Banks and Financial Institutions. Thereafter, Sonia was recruited by K-Electric Limited [KE] as the Deputy General Manager for Taxation and Insurance Services. She served at KE for three years where she helped successfully win critical taxation cases as well as recover long outstanding refunds worth millions from the taxation authorities. Sonia then joined Shell Pakistan Limited [Shell] as the Head of Taxation, Head of Internal Audit and Secretary to the Board Audit Committee for more than two years. Her skills and sound professional judgements were quickly recognised and she was promoted to Deputy CFO of Shell and worked for the Company for another three years. In this position, she successfully led the project of rights issue of a listed company worth millions of dollars. She also undertook a Transfer Pricing project which ensured that all the contracts with related parties were at arm’s length. Sonia always had the passion for entrepreneurship and she turned that into a reality and formed an all-female led company to help the world benefit from her wealth of knowledge and experience.
